Merging Brands: Lessons from My Website Overhaul

It’s been a while, so let me catch you up on everything! Over the past few months, my main focus has been a major website revamp. To streamline things and cut costs, I merged my author site with Polar Press. With this merger came a complete website overhaul, including a deep dive into SEO optimization.

My goal? To boost visibility and attract more visitors—and so far, it’s working! The process took longer than expected, but I’m about 98% done. Now, I just need to complete a final review of each page and refresh some blog posts to ensure everything is polished and optimized.

As part of my SEO strategy, I removed most of my old blog posts, keeping only a select few. I’ve been updating and refining those, with a few more left to go. Reworking every post would have been overwhelming, so I focused on quality over quantity.

Previously, I aimed to publish a new post every week. This time around, I’m shifting to a more sustainable schedule—posting twice a month. There may be times when I publish more, but my priority is delivering higher-quality content rather than frequent updates.

I’ve updated my social media presence by adding Bluesky and TikTok while also deleting my X (formerly Twitter) account. This decision wasn’t political—it simply wasn’t an effective platform for me.

So far, Bluesky feels a lot like X, so I’m still undecided about it. As for TikTok, I didn’t expect to return, but this time around, the experience has been better.

YouTube remains my favorite social media platform—it’s where I have the most fun and the best experience. Since my last update, I’ve added new playlists, so be sure to check them out!

First up is BookTube! So far, I’ve shared my journey with the Christmas Town Series and Dark Days, diving into the inspiration behind the books and the challenges I faced along the way. My goal is to help aspiring and new authors learn from my experiences.

In the future, I’d love to expand into author interviews, but for now, I’m focused on sharing my writing journey. Stay tuned for more insights!

One of my goals for YouTube has been to expand my music library. I’ll admit—I’ve been called a metal snob, and I can’t exactly deny it! But I’m branching out with Saur Reacts to Everything, where I explore a wider range of music.

So far, I’ve taken on two major artists: Sabrina Carpenter and Sleep Token. Stay tuned as I continue diving into new sounds and breaking out of my comfort zone!

Check it out and consider subscribing to Polar Press Presents on YouTube! It’s a free and easy way to support Polar Press and help bring more content your way. Plus, you can suggest the next song for me to react to—I’d love to hear your recommendations!
