In Memory Of Catherine O’Hara
The entertainment world has faced some difficult losses recently, and 2026 is off to a heavy start. Like many fans, I grew up watching Home Alone, and I still remember getting the VHS set with the house map. Every holiday season since, I’ve spent time with Kate and Kevin McCallister, thanks to the unforgettable performance of Catherine O’Hara and the rest of the cast.
In more recent years, I came to love her all over again as Moira Rose in Schitt’s Creek, a role that showcased her incredible range and comedic brilliance. Long before that, she left a lasting impression as Delia Deetz in Beetlejuice, a movie that both fascinated and terrified me as a kid. This isn’t just about listing iconic roles; it’s about gratitude.
Thank you, Catherine O’Hara, for 35 years of holiday tradition, unforgettable characters, and countless hours of laughter and entertainment.
Remembering Ace
With the recent passing of Catherine, I found myself taking a trip down memory lane. The road led me to reflect on the loss of rock legend Ace Frehley. Getting older isn’t easy, and saying goodbye to the icons we grew up with is even harder. Like many fans of classic rock, I grew up listening to KISS and following Ace Frehley’s solo career. His guitar work, style, and stage presence helped shape my love for rock music. After seeing KISS in 2000, I never thought I would get another chance to see Ace Frehley perform live. However, I was fortunate enough to attend a show just a few months before his passing.

I reflect on KISS, Ace, and seeing the face that launched a thousand guitars meant. If you’re interested in both the music and my story, be sure to watch them both.
Keeping on Theme: Remembering and Just Friends
Like many authors, I put a piece of me into all my work, and Just Friends has the most of me by far. Of course, there is a lot of fiction in there, but personal events inspire plenty. Here’s an excerpt from the synopsis:
