While I hoped people would watch, I wasn’t certain I’d ever truly find an audience on YouTube. In reality, growing an audience through social media and online content has always been a challenge for me, and because of that, despite my optimism, I assumed building a YouTube channel, gaining viewers, and increasing engagement might come with the same struggles. Thankfully, that hasn’t been the case.
YouTube has been an incredible experience for me, full of genuine interactions and support that feel nothing short of amazing. In this feature, I’ll be highlighting several areas of Polar Press Presents on YouTube. I invite you to take a moment to explore the videos. If you enjoy the content, please consider subscribing. Your support truly means more than I can express, and it goes a long way in helping Polar Press—and me—continue this journey.
Polar Press Presents: Raise Your Horns
This playlist features bands from across the rock and metal world. To the left, you’ll see one of the latest additions, and below that, a fan favorite from the collection. It’s a mix of your recommendations and my own picks — so whether you’re here for something new or something heavy, you’re in the right place.
Don’t see your favorite band yet? Drop a recommendation in the comments, and I’ll react to it. Watch a few videos, tell me what you think, and smash that subscribe button to keep the conversation going.
Polar Press Presents: Saur Reacts to Everything
It’s no secret I’ve been called a bit of a music snob, so I decided it was time to branch out and see what else is out there. This list is a mix of your recommendations and a few of my own picks, but what really makes it special is the community behind it.
If something doesn’t quite hit a full three microphones, or I point out something that didn’t land for me, you all come back with, “Okay, but try this one.” A perfect example of this is the Laufey video below. There were a few elements in her first video that weren’t quite my style, but overall, I thought she had a fantastic voice. After that, several viewers recommended I listen to her duet with Barbra Streisand, and well… you’ll have to check it out.
Be sure to check out my reaction to The Ghost of Paul Revere. That one was an absolute blast to do.
Connections
When I launched Polar Press Presents, I never would have imagined that bands would actually reach out and have conversations with me, but they have. And it’s led to some incredible exchanges and some amazing new music in my earholes.
You can check out my reactions below to a couple of these bands, but make sure you go give them a follow on Instagram, subscribe to them on YouTube, and listen to them on the platform of your choice.
Shorts: Raise Your Horns and All Things Saur
There are two different Shorts playlists. All Things Saur covers a little bit of everything, while Raise Your Horns focuses primarily on concerts and music-related thoughts.
To the left is Dr. Rockzo, who started as one of the lowest-viewed entries in All Things Saur, but has quickly climbed into the top five.
To the right is the latest entry in the Raise Your Horns Shorts playlist. It’s been quite a journey and a year of growth, and I hope you’ll take a moment to check out a playlist or two.
