Mini Blog Update
Here we go with an update and reactions.
April got away from me, and I wasn’t able to publish either a full blog post or a mini update. Between an increasingly busy workload and spending more hours working from home, time has been in short supply lately.
The good news is that I have uploaded a couple of new videos to the YouTube channel. I truly appreciate everyone who has continued to watch, comment, and support the content during this hectic stretch. Your recommendations, feedback, and encouragement continue to help keep everything moving forward.
Even when things get busy, I’m still working hard on new content and continue to build toward Polar Press’s future. There’s a lot in the works, and I’m hoping to get back into a more consistent rhythm with blog updates.
Reactions
One of the things I’ve always tried to do is stay open to feedback. This includes both YouTube reactions and my books. Recently, I received a few comments about the way I approach my reaction videos. Honestly, I don’t really see them as negative comments, and I’m definitely not upset by them. If anything, I see them as opportunities to learn, grow, and better understand what people connect with.
The discussion started with my recent Billy Strings reaction video. I shared some thoughts and perspectives during the reaction that sparked a conversation. It led to what some viewers expect from reaction content and how different creators approach their videos. Some people prefer highly energetic reactions, while others enjoy deeper conversations,
For me, reaction videos have never been just about exaggerated expressions or trying to “fake hype” for clicks. That doesn’t mean feedback gets ignored. Quite the opposite. I pay attention to comments because they help me understand what viewers enjoy. It helps with what they’d like to see more of, and where I can improve. The same mindset applies to my writing and publishing journey through Polar Press. Constructive criticism, thoughtful discussion, and honest reactions are all part of growing creatively.
I’ll dive deeper into this topic in an upcoming Tales From the Pit episode. I’ll discuss reaction content, audience expectations, authenticity on YouTube, and balancing entertainment with genuine conversation. It should be an interesting discussion for anyone curious about reaction channels and content creation.
At the end of the day, I’m grateful people care enough to comment, discuss, and engage with the content. Whether someone agrees with my approach or not, the conversation itself matters. Every recommendation, comment, like, and discussion helps shape the future of the channel and keeps this community growing.
If you’ve watched the Billy Strings reaction or have thoughts about reactions on YouTube, I’d genuinely love to hear your perspective in the comments. Check out the links below to some of the latest and some of the more popular reactions.
Polar Press Ebook Sale
The Road to 10,000
I’ve been reflecting a lot on Dark Days lately, and I miss Sori dearly. Books 2 and 3 are completed and have undergone 2 rounds of edits. However, this was all done with funding from my second and third jobs. I no longer have these jobs, so I’m continuing my Hail Mary efforts to get these works out.
Starting June 1st, 2026, and until further notice, all of Polar Press’ E-books will be on sale worldwide for $0.99. Now for the plot twist.
After sellers and Uncle Sam take their cut, each sale will only raise $0.10 of revenue. My personal goal will be to sell at least 10,000 copies of Polar Press Publications combined. Of course, royalties from all other works will go to the process. However, my royalties for non-Polar Press books are less than $0.10 on E-books due to the publisher taking their cut in addition to retail shops.
This goal of 10,000 copies may be unreachable, but if it happens, it will pay for cover designs and formatting to get the book ready. If it exceeds, then the rest will go either one of two things. The first is final editing if needed. If not needed, the funds will be used to produce my current WIP.
Maybe I’ve shared more than most would, but I’ve always tried to be honest and transparent about this journey. If you click on the book images above, you’ll be taken directly to each book’s homepage. There, you can learn more through story blurbs, reader reviews, and additional details about the series. Below, you’ll also find links to the Dark Days eBook on the three major retailers. While the eBook sale will be available internationally, I wanted to make it easy for readers to purchase the book on their preferred platform.
Final Thoughts
Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the mini-blog letter! I haven’t quite decided yet whether this will be a monthly thing, every other month, or just whenever inspiration strikes. Either way, I’m happy you’re here.
