Welcome to Volume 1, Issue 1 of Our Newly Merged Site! ~ We’re excited to introduce the newly combined website of D.W. Saur and Polar Press Books! To streamline operations, reduce costs, and focus on upcoming projects, I (D.W. Saur) have officially closed Polar Press’ website, blog, and social media as of April 2025. Managing multiple platforms became increasingly challenging, so this merger allows for a more efficient and engaging experience.

Exciting Changes: A Focus on the Blog! ~ As part of this merger, I’ve decided to shift my focus entirely to this blog instead of releasing a newsletter. To reach a wider audience, I’ve integrated an SEO tool that helps connect with more readers—far beyond what a newsletter could achieve. With this new approach, I’ll be publishing 1-2 blog issues per month, featuring author spotlights, bookstagrammers, writing tips, Polar Press Presents, and more. Stay tuned for insightful content and exciting features!

New Here? Subscribe & Stay Connected! ~ If this is your first visit, we’d love for you to subscribe or follow on your favorite platform to stay updated on the latest content. If you’re a returning reader, thank you for your continued support—it truly means the world!

Chapters With Chan

Have you ever come across a book review and wondered if the reviewer read the book? That’s never a concern with Chandler from Chapters with Chan! As a passionate reader and honest reviewer, she dives deep into every story she shares. Plus, she’s a dedicated supporter of indie and small press authors, helping hidden gems find their audience.

Her posts and reels are top-notch, making her a must-follow on Instagram. You’ll love her honest reviews, current reads, and engaging bookish reels. But that’s not all—Chandler is also on YouTube! If you’re a BookTuber or just love book content, be sure to subscribe to her channel for even more fantastic recommendations and insights.

Chandler is a dedicated reviewer who genuinely supports indie and small press authors by following through on reading their work. She’s always honest—never guaranteeing a 5-star rating, but if she gives a 1-star, you’ll know exactly why. That’s why I highly recommend her for book reviews. Unlike some who exploit authors or fail to deliver on their promises, Chandler’s goal is to uplift and provide thoughtful, fair feedback. I’ve personally experienced the disappointment of a reviewer who didn’t follow through, which makes Chandler’s integrity even more valuable.

Two of the most common questions I receive are: “How do I start writing?” and “What do I need to begin?” The answer is simple—just start. A story will never come to life if you don’t take that first step. Look at Snoopy. He’d pull out his trusty typewriter and begin his stories with, “It was a dark and stormy night.” Even though he occasionally got stuck and began the same way, he always started. And that’s the key—just begin, in whatever way suits you best.

Some writers prefer outlining on paper or plotting digitally, while others dive straight in without planning. There’s no right or wrong approach—use the one that feels natural to you.

The Shadow of Salt Crest – the latest work by sci-fi and fantasy author Daze Evander – is a must-read for fans of immersive world-building and gripping storytelling. Daze is the author of the Eunoia Trilogy, where she crafts an intricate universe under her imprint, Faction Realm Press.

In The Shadow of Salt Crest, Zekiel arrives in Salt Crest City, only to be warned of an impending catastrophe in the surrounding wasteland. As he joins Castin, Tule, Elijah, Theia, and the Librarian on a perilous rescue mission, an eerie force tries to pull him toward the toxic sky. Meanwhile, a looming shadow spreads swiftly over the mud-covered waters, signaling that time is running out. The key to survival lies in unraveling cryptic elemental artifacts and ancient supernatural legends.

In Episode 33 of Raise Your Horns, I dive into the heavy-hitting sound of Buried in Lies, a rising force in the metalcore scene. I have a unique story about how I got introduced to this band, and you won’t want to miss my reaction to their track Infect Me.

I won’t spoil my thoughts, but if you’re a metalhead, you’ll appreciate my take. Check it out and let me know if you agree!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you connect with Chandler and Daze, and if you’re an aspiring author, I hope Writing With Snoopy provided valuable insights. I’ll be adding more spotlights and writing tips to the blog, so be sure to subscribe to discover incredible voices and follow my writing journey.
